Reinvesting into our Homes: Enhancing Your Living Experience
Reinvesting into our Homes
Get ready for an exciting transformation! At The Villages at Fort Irwin, we've embarked on a multi-year endeavor to upgrade our homes and community spaces, ensuring a better quality of life for our residents. With a focus on energy efficiency, modern amenities, and enhancing your comfort, these projects are set to elevate your living experience to new heights. Here's a glimpse into what we've accomplished so far and what's in store for the future.
6 Reasons Why Community Upgrades Are Important
We believe that investing in community upgrades is crucial for several reasons. Investing money back into the project is key to our success as an Army Partner in supporting the mission of our military families.
Ensuring Longevity: By addressing outdated items and making necessary repairs, we're enhancing the durability and longevity of our communities.
Improving Quality of Life: Upgraded amenities and features create a more enjoyable living environment for soldiers and their families.
Energy Efficiency: Our initiatives to improve energy efficiency not only reduce operating costs but also contribute to a greener future.
Enhancing Safety and Security: We're incorporating state-of-the-art technology and security features to enhance community safety and security.
Fostering Pride and Inclusion: Our upgrades aim to make the neighborhood more attractive, fostering a sense of pride, inclusion, and respect among community members.
Sustainable Living: With features designed to withstand the harsh desert climate, we're making our homes more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Energy-Efficiency and Safety Projects
We've been diligently modernizing our homes, incorporating energy-efficient elements such as plank flooring, HVAC systems, LED lighting, faucet aerators, and Google Nest Smart Thermostats (70% of all homes). Moreover, cordless blinds and window locks projects will be completed by the end of 2023. Explore the upgrades in each village by clicking on the links below.
Home Improvements
As Fort Irwin has grown, so has the need for home upgrades. We've remodeled or replaced older homes to make way for modern residences. Exterior improvements, including new fences, automatic garage door openers, LED exterior lighting, fresh paint, and address signs, are ongoing. Kitchen upgrades, featuring stainless steel appliances, new countertops, and cabinetry, have also been a top priority. Check out the chart below for an overview of our projects since 2017.
Community Enhancements
To create a vibrant and welcoming community, we regularly pave streets, repave walking paths, update playgrounds, and beautify the landscaping. Our ongoing pool project involves resurfacing the deck, installing new drains, and repairing the pool concrete. Sandy Basin Community Center and Crackerjack Flats will receive a minor facelift, and new tables will be added. New playgrounds have been built in Sage Brush and Mojave, with plans for another one in Cactus Cove in 2023. We've also installed new monument signs across all legacy villages.
Looking Ahead
We have exciting plans for future upgrades, which are outlined in the provided chart. We prioritize these projects based on budget evaluations, feedback from the Army Tenant Satisfaction Survey, and the valued opinions of our residents. While some residents may be reassigned before a project begins, please know that your thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated.
Kitchen Remodel Updates
Residents will receive advance notification of kitchen remodel projects through a letter sent three weeks before the project start date. The chart below lists the homes scheduled for remodeling in 2023.
